He was born February 19, 1934 in Pierce, Florida to Barney Pace Sr. and Olivia Baker Pace. Thomas James Pace, of Mulberry, Florida entered into eternal peace on January 3, 2019, in Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 84 years old.
Thomas was born on February 19, 1934, in Pierce, Florida to the late Orlevia and Barney Pace. He was educated in Polk County School System and attended St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Pierce, Florida. He relocated to Newark, New Jersey in the 1950’s, and was employed with Conmar Zipper Company for many years. He had a great love for the Lord and faithfully attended Caanan Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey.
Thomas was united in holy matrimony to the late Catherine Pitts-Pace on May 7, 1954 and the union was blessed with 4 children, two sons and two daughters. Years later, Thomas moved back to Florida, where he took up residence in Lakeland before residing in Mulberry.
Thomas was employed with Fort Green Mine, formerly Agrico in Polk County until he retired.
He had a real love for Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Cadillac cars and during his spare time he truly enjoyed working as an Auto-Mechanic. He was quite handy at fixing anything that was electronic. He also enjoyed Showcase Theaters, Drive-in Movies, World Wrestling Entertainment, gardening, visiting the ocean, catching soft shell turtles, cleaning, cooking and eating them. He enjoyed frequent visits to Miami and Tampa Casinos. Thomas was also a 33rd Degree Mason, Masonic Chapter 1105.
He was preceded in death by his long time companion, the late Ina Jean Ashe and also his wife, the late Georgia Moseley-Pace, his three sisters and three brothers.
He leaves his memories to be cherished by his beloved children, Michael Thomas Pace, Gail J. Pace, Marcia M. Pace-Lacewell (Derrick), Barry V. Pace all of Newark, New Jersey, Norris L. McMiller (Patricia) of Maitland, Florida, Ina Ashe-Brown and Zoner Ashe of Mulberry, Florida, three grandchildren, Dashayla, Dei' Marion, and Deyauna Pace of Mulberry, Florida, his loving sisters, Irene Griffin of Mulberry, Florida, Hazel Napier-Leonard of Tallahassee, Florida and one brother, DeLeon Pace , Ret. Master Sgt.,US Marine Corp.(Barbara) of Summerville, South Carolina, one son-in-law, Derrick Lacewell of Newark, New Jersey and one daughter-in-law, Patricia McMiller of Maitland, Florida and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
